NABUKEERA SETS HER EYES ON ST LAWRENCE FOR SECONDARY

Aisha Nabukeera and her guardian Frank Gashumba have finally chosen St. Lawrence Schools from a bunch of schools that wanted the girl to join them.

More than five schools had initially lodged in their requests to Gashumba asking that he allows the girl, who caused quite a stir after her step-mother burnt her in 2006 to enroll as a student in their schools.

St. Michael of Mukono and the famous Seeta High School were among the schools but Gashumba and his protégé have chosen St. Lawrence.

“We have chosen St. Lawrence for various reasons; it has maintained a good education background, the student conditions are quite good and even opportunities to further her education through their recently constructed university would be future prospects,” he explained.

Nabukeera is set to begin classes at St. Lawrence on Monday.
The management of St. Lawrence Schools offered her a lifetime scholarship to study at any of their campuses till she finishes her studies.

“Aisha will not need to pay a penny here in St. Lawrence, she is free to come and study up to university level,” said the St. Lawrence proprietor Mr. Mukiibi Lawrence.
