NABUKEERA TAKES PART IN THE MTN MARATHON

It takes a great deal to keep a good person down. This is true in the case of Aisha Nabukeera, the teenage victim of step-mother domestic violence as she put her past behind her and took part in the 9th MTN Marathon that recently got concluded in November.

Taking on the 10km distance option, Nabukeera started at 7:21:11 and finished after an hour, 8minutes and 31 seconds with an average speed of 6:51 and emerged 3286th out of 6151 overall contestants.

When approached for comment after her jog, Nabukeera was ecstatic not only because she took part but also because for her it feels like a re-introduction into life and mingling with other people after her plight that nearly took her life and hopes away, a few years ago.

“Her confidence could be equated to that of wondering explorers because of its consistency and her enthusiasm to take part was overwhelming. We are glad to be a part of her betterment and we shall continue to empower children's participation in the marathon.” expressed Sheila Kangwagye, MTN Public Relations Manager.
